JEWELLERY HAS NO LIMITS

London based designer Sophia Raja launched her handmade jewellery collection in 2006 but has been making jewellery for 10 years. Her love for handmade and Swarovski jewellery started from an early age; she has been collecting Swarovski Crystal's for 20 years and growing collection is slowly taking over her flat.

Initially she started experimenting with various mediums, mixing different textures and colors, trying to establish what worked and to develop her own signature style. To enhance her existing skills she trained in Silversmithing at Sir John Cass College followed by a Fashion Jewellery course at the London College of Fashion.

Sophia is inspired by nature and beautiful everyday objects.  All of her pieces are handmade and are designed using the highest quality materials. Her handmade jewellery collections are made in fairly small numbers, ensuring the wearer truly feels they are wearing a unique piece. She tries to slightly alter each piece of jewellery so that each item has it's individual qualities and a personality of its own. Her handmade jewellery collections are exclusively sold online therefore the wearer is highly unlikely to ever come across anyone else wearing the same thing, unless of course you let your friends in on your secret. 

Her style is not easy to categorize which she feels is a good thing as she dislikes being pigeon holed, which she feels would limit her creativity.  Her handmade jewellery is mainly made using Sterling Silver, Swarovski Crystals and Glass beads. Her obsession with Swarovski Crystals is quite clear as most of her handmade jewellery consists of the crystals is all shapes and sizes. Swarovski Crystals are the most beautiful medium used in making jewellery, the sparkly crystals can make the most simple design look effortlessly timeless.

Sitting in cafes watching life go by......be it locally in Highgate or smack bang in the middle of the Soho smog. Living in London the weather can sometime prevent me doing my favorite thing so on these occasions I like to travel.... my next destination will hopefully be Iceland....Watch this space.
